A $5,000,000 update that will include architectural restoration, new and updated vendor spaces, community gathering areas and ensuring community representation through recruitment of vendors and programming, technological innovation, branding and promotion.

The estimated length of the project is still being determined but it is estimated to take 18-24 months (about 2 years).

This has yet to be determined and will depend on the condition and capacity of the building. Our goal is to maintain normal operations for the current merchants through the renovation, however, as the design phase continues, we will know more and share with the merchants and public.

This is one of the primary questions that we hope to get feedback from the community. We know that we will offer SNAP eligible fresh foods (grocery, seafood, butcher, poultry), made to order prepared foods, bakery along with retail elements such as clothing, accessories, hair and skin products and community-based organizations.

Avenue Market will hire its first ever General Manager who will oversee a revamped and expanded security team that focuses on greater collaboration with BPD and MTA Police in and around the Market. We are also exploring an updated camera system.
