Lexington

Market

Lexington Market is a place nearly as old as America itself — and its history of local food, community-rooted small business, and a space for all is the legacy we are proud to continue on today. When we say that Lexington has “something for everyone,” it’s because after more than 200 years in operation, we still pride ourselves on having a diverse mix of local food and service vendors who are deeply rooted in Baltimore. Learn more about what makes us famous and even better — come see us in person!

Broadway
Market

Broadway Market, located in the heart of Fells Point, is one of the first public markets in Baltimore, dating back to 1786. One of six remaining public markets left in Baltimore, the markets were once the city’s major source of food for the growing city. In the early days the market yards were equipped with stalls, barns and a weighing platform to accommodate the livestock the farmers brought into town to sell. On market days farmers came to Fell’s Point by wagon, boat, and ferry from nearby counties seeking an outlet for their products. Broadway Market, the oldest of the existing markets in Baltimore, has a long tradition of serving the residents of Fell’s Point and Baltimore.

Hollins
Market

Hollins Market is a historic public market in Southwest Baltimore that has been continuously serving the surrounding community since 1836 . There are currently eight merchants located within the market whose products range from fresh produce and meats to deli offerings and other freshly made prepared foods.Baltimore Public Markets Corporation is actively working on the renovation plan for Hollins Market and is seeking vendors who specialize in unique, local and artisanal products, as well as freshly prepared foods, who can engage our community and speak knowledgeable about the products they create and sell.

ThE Avenue
Market

The Avenue Market, formerly known as Lafayette Market, opened in 1871. After a 1953 fire, merchants continued business in a makeshift shed until the new location opened across the street in 1957. Lafayette Market ended its run in 1996 when a complete renovation turned it into today’s Avenue Market. The 34,000-square-foot market features a variety of products, regularly offering produce from local growers, and scheduled family-friendly activities for community residents, institutions and visitors.

Northeast Market

Northeast Market was established in 1885 as the area around Johns Hopkins Hospital was developed. The market was enlarged in 1896 and, in 1955, the original wooden structure replaced and modernized with a massive brick building with funds from a $102 million city bond issue. The last renovation of the twentieth century was in the 1980s.
